Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn, born August 19, 1965, is an American actress. She also works as a producer and director. She is most famous for her leading role as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson on the TNT crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick won two Emmy Awards in 2010 and 2007 for her portrayal Johnson. After the conclusion of the seventh season, the show was canceled on the 13th of August, 2012. Sedgwick is also known for her regular role as Madeline Wuntch on the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Sedgwick was awarded a Golden Globe nomination for her performance as Madeline in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's film credits include Oliver Stone's Born on the Fourth of July (1989) as well as Cameron Crowe's singles (1992), Heart and Souls (1993), Phenomenon (1996) The cooking (2000), Secondhand Lions (2003), The Game Plan (2007), and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald who worked as a speech and family therapist, as well as Henry Dwight Sedgwick IV Venture capitalist. She was born in New York City. Her mother was Jewish. Her father was Episcopalian, of English descent. Sedgwick has openly declared her Jewish roots and stated that she is a part of Passover seders.
